Dear Dr Bruce Copely
It is with a lot of glee and satisfaction that I write this letter to you in response to your fantastic work you have done in developing the Rainbow Vuvuzela. As you may or may not known, our company has been at the forefront of developing this phenomenon called the vuvuzela. We have been involved in the developement of this product since 1998 and we went into full production in 2001.
Since those early days we realized that the vuvuzela has only been capable of blowing a single note, we could however blow this note at different volumes and at varying tempos. This has been the norm in the past and the supporters embraced this fashion of blowing during the past ten years.
This form of blowing the vuvuzela has been critized considerably by people who have not traditionally attended local football matches until as recently as the Confederations Cup which was held in June 2009. So we have been facing a series of criticisms namely, the vuvuzela being a monotonous drone, it being too loud, it could be used as a weapon and the mouthpiece not being of a high quality finish.
We at Masincedane have taken this criticism to heart and have developed a new 3 part vuvuzela that has a unique click system with 3 colour options to negate the threat of it being used as a weapon, a high quality mouth piece finish, a reduced decibel level and the fact that when the 3 part vuvuzela is disassembled it can be packed away in a handbag.
More importantly you have come up with a solution to create sweet music with the vuvuzela and we are overjoyed at the fact that we now can create music with our product.
Traditional football supporters have only known the vuvuzela to be played the way it has been played in the past and we are looking forward to see the impact your method of blowing the vuvuzela is going to have on the old and new vuvuzela players.
With the above been said we look forward to working with you in the near future in taking the vuvuzela to a new level of celebrating life through the beautiful music it will now create. Considering the potential impact your revolutionary method will have on the way we celebrate football in South Africa I see the rest of the world embracing our culture for years to come.
